What is a hand therapist?

A hand therapist is a qualified Occupational Therapist who has undergone additional study to be able to treat conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow.

 

What can hand therapy do for me?

After a thorough assessment and diagnosis of your presenting complaint, your hand therapist will develop a treatment plan.  This involves a range of different therapy modalities that can be conservative, pre or post surgical.  These include;

  • Acute and chronic pain management (Fractures / sprains / tendinopathies / tendonitis)
  • Custom splinting and braces
  • Exercises
  • Rehabilitation
  • Wound care

No referral is required – you can give our friendly team a call to arrange your initial appointment.  We accept private self funded clients as well as EPC, DVA, TAC, Workcover and post surgical cases.
