What is a hand therapist?
A hand therapist is a qualified Occupational Therapist who has undergone additional study to be able to treat conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow.
What can hand therapy do for me?
After a thorough assessment and diagnosis of your presenting complaint, your hand therapist will develop a treatment plan. This involves a range of different therapy modalities that can be conservative, pre or post surgical. These include;
- Acute and chronic pain management (Fractures / sprains / tendinopathies / tendonitis)
- Custom splinting and braces
- Exercises
- Rehabilitation
- Wound care
